Building the Tower

In June of 1999 work began in earnest with the construction of the tower. We had originally planned to hired a gentleman named "African" as our contractor, having seen and liked work he had done in Negril. But when we were ready to start he was engaged on another project and recommended a young contractor named Errol Coke to us. Coke - we've never used his first name - worked out very well, and went on to be the contractor for all of the major construction at Valley View.

The first floor construction was supervised by JC and Charlie, and then Jeff came down to oversee the second floor. It was a learning experience for all. One lesson learned was that June is not the best time for construction, as it rained every afternoon.
